I can also tell you that over my 30+ years of working with folks within the LGBTQ+ community, and living that myself, I have seen time and time again the questioning of one's traditional faith. The initial reason for this is often triggered by the abuses cast on us due to our sexual identities. So...

Honestly, it's actually a good thing. What's more, my experience tells me that for most of my students, they come out with an even stronger faith. Sure, I might look differently now...but it is their faith and they have a stronger degree of commitment to it since they have done the hard work.
Why is the course called: "INLET JOURNEY?"
Good question.
The reason is simple. In case you haven't been able to tell form my site, I am a native "beach boy," and because of that, I tend to create a connection between my work and the ocean. So, thus, "Inlet." You see, when I was a young boy, my dad would take me fishing in the ocean. But... to get there, we had to travel from the gentle inland waterway, through the rough waves of the connecting INLET, and then finally, out to the calmer ocean where the big fish lived.
So...
You see, to get to the good part, we had to travel through the messy middle. That's why I thought the inlet was a great "metaphor" for the deconstruction process. To get from the waterway (the faith of your past), to the ocean (the faith of your future), you must go through the inlet (the deconstruction process.)
Therefore...
Don't be afraid. Since I am a believer in God...I believe...
God understands your doubts. God understands your need to know. God understands your journey. God is on your side.
But here's the thing...
I find that many folks, perhaps even you, feel the need to deconstruct; however, they don't know the best way to do it. They listen to some social media videos. They may read a book or two. But, they don't seem to have a path to move them forward. They often, just bounce around from one idea to another. One question leads to many more so...they just give up.
